But the PS2 Ratchet and Clank games are not like that. If Naughty dog created a Jak 4, The Lost Frontier that High Impact Games created ( same people who made Size Matters and Secret Agent Clank) Naughty Dog would have to tell their fans that TLF is none canon because the story in TLF would most likely make writing the story for Jak 4 a lot harder. You wouldn't understand the story if you did. You can play Jak 2 without playing Jak 1 but you can't play Jak 3 without playing Jak 2. Ratchet and Clank are not like a game like Jak and Daxter. Nefarious in ACIT but they didn't have to if they didn't want to. They brought back Qwark again in RAC3 but they could have made a story without Qwark and just make it so Qwark stays in the megacorp facility. They brought Qwark back in RAC2 but they could have made another villain to take Qwark's place and make it so Qwark just works at Gadgetron. Drek dies, Qwark gets trapped in the Megacorp testing facility, dr Nefarious gets trapped in space, Vox dies and Otto gets the intelligence of a monkey. The main bad guy in each RAC game has something happen to them so they don't have to bring them back to the next game Insomniac doesn't want to. What I'm trying to say is that they don't mind making Size Matters and Secret Agent Clank Canon because their stories won't affect the future series. She was mentioned on the radio in ACIT but that's it. So it's not like its a one time character. Also, note that the Lombax Ratchet meets in RAC2 plays a huge role in the story of RAC2. Like in RAC2 Ratchet meets another Lombax but in TOD, Ratchet said he has never met another Lombax. And they didn't mind making sections of the story in previous canon games, not canon. You could play TOD without playing any of the previous games, but for QFB you needed to play TOD to understand the story. It wasn't until the future saga they started making it necessary to play the previous games to understand the story. ( I never played Secret Agent Clank so I don't know the story) You could play any of the PS2 Ratchet and Clank games without playing the previous games and still understand the story. The same can be said for RAC3, Deadlocked, Size matters and I'm guessing Secret Agent Clank. Sure there were some references to RAC1 but you didn't need to play RAC1 to understand the story of RAC2. When they made RAC2, the story of RAC1 didn't really affect the story on RAC2.
